GI Joe Collector’s Club 2013 Free Membership Figure Revealed!

While it has been known for a while now that Iceberg was the 2013 membership figure, no one new what the figure looked like until now. I like the look of it a lot. Only thing that seems out of place is the fur collar thing. I also really like the accessories. And for those that are less than thrilled with the head sculpt, the Club says that the head is just a mock up and the final version will look much better.

It’s Official, I’m a GI Joe Kre-o Collector!

I went over to my local TRU today with the goal of just checking out the Kre-o stuff, and maybe, just maybe picking up Check Point Alpha because I like the nostalgic feel of it. As soon as I got to the section, I saw the blind single packs and the Gotta Have Em All (yes Im crossing streams) took over. I pulled out my phone and found the assortment list and numbering for the blind packs, and after struggling to find the unique numbre for each figure I ended up with one of every figure from wave 1 plus a little army of Alley Vipers and Crimson Guards. The AV come 3 to a box and the CG are 2 to a box. I also would have grabbed the second Trooper but it seems someone got to it before I did and bought a single blind pack.

I also grabbed Check Point Alpha, my original goal and limit, as well as The Tactical Battle Platorm set and the Dragonfly set. I could have also picked up everything minus the Ninja Temple Battle set, as that was the only one missing, but I decided to leave the others for another day, and hopefully some new kid collectors.

In any event, Hasbro – you have at least one GI Joe Kre-o completionist. I cannot wait for the Dojo with the Hiss Tank, Destro and Baroness to come out, along with wave 2.

Here is the code list so you guys can know what you are looking for and not run into doubles, unless you want:

23401 75 Alley Viper (3/case)
23401 76 Cobra Ninja Viper (3/case)
23401 77 Cobra Trooper (2/case)
23401 78 Crimson Guard (2/case)
23401 79 Cobra Axe Ninja
23401 80 Kim Arashikage (Jinx)
23401 81 Kamakura
23401 82 Quick Kick
23401 83 Rock-N-Roll
23401 84 Scarlett
23401 85 Adventure Team Commander
23401 86 Torpedo

And, to help you not stand there like an idiot like I did trying to figure out where the code is printed check out the picture below. The code is printed in black on the back side of the pack, along the right edge.

Just Got a Ton of New Joes In!!!

So I went on a Toxo Viper rampage and snagged 15 more of them – 7 complete, 6 incomplete and 1 MOC, the card is in awesome shape, no creases, dings or tears. I also picked up the Dollar General Snake Eyes – that version is a remake of my childhood Snake Eyes, I was too late for the 82/83 and the 85 versions, so 1991 will always be my favorite. I also snagged quite a few Retaliation figures: both the blue/tan GI Joe Trooper, Lady Jaye, Alley Viper, Joe Colton, Battle Kata Roadblock, Red Ninja, the black Cobra Commander, and the Cyber Ninja.

On top of all that, I also bought a TON of comics! I picked up 30 issues of the GI Joe Marvel run that I was missing (only need 5 or 6 now for a full run), picked up year book #1, AND the big purchase was the super rare GI Joe #63 Classic printed by So Much Fun! Inc. It isn’t in the best shape, but it is by far the rarest Joe comic out there (if I’m wrong I’d love to know, so I can work on getting it) so when I saw it I knew I needed to pick it up. It is a reprint of marvel #63 and they added “classic” to the front. It was a time before variant and A/B covers became a normal thing, so there were only 5,000 printed and far fewer that are still around today.

I won’t post pics of everything I picked up, just a representative:

Oh I almost forgot (it might be bad when I cannot remember everything that I just bought) that I also picked up the GI Joe Tactical Ninja Team 3-pack with Sgt. Airborne, Mouse, and Snake Eyes as well as the GI Joe Trading Cards for 1991. I loved collecting the cards as a kid. Too bad they were only around for 1 series. But, that does make them a cheap and easy buy on eBay. You can grab a set (all 200 plus the checklists) for less than $10 shipped!

Toy Fair 2013 Roundup (Yeah I Know Im Late)

Better late than never! Toy Fair occurred last weekend and while there was not a ton of new Joe stuff, the quality was amazing! We received confirmation of the remade Tomahawk (Eaglehawk – getting released in August) as well as some awesome figures!

We will be getting: Kwinn, Data Viper, Ultimate Storm Shadow, Ultimate Firefly, Ultimate Snake Eyes, Ultimate Cobra Commander, Ultimate Roadblock, Ultimate Duke, Ultimate Flint, and Budo! They also showed off the Crimson Guard and Cobra Combat Ninja (essentially just the movie trooper, but I guess everything has to be a ninja.)

I am really excited for these figures and the upcoming months in the hobby. These toys heightened my anticipation of the movie, due out March 29!

New Joes!

Just got the 2012 Joe Con Annihilators 3-pack. Its been on the wish list awhile but prices are high to say the least. Still have to decide if I’m going to open them. I haven’t open any convention 2 or 3 pack because I wanted to keep the value at its highest. But, I’m starting to have a change of heart and want to display everything.
I also picked up the Club FSS Dice. I did not buy the FSS, but I will get the second FSS. I’ll be picking up a few more of these as they come out.

I’m on my way to a local swap meet, I’ll post any finds later today. Uploading these from my phone and it won’t let me rotate the pics, ahhhh.

Registration Op… What, what?

It is NOT happening today…. It is unfortunate that unforeseen issues always seem to crop up. … I was very excited to register for my set.

“Hello all,

Well, we have had an unforseen issue that is being resolved.  No registration this week.  Maybe next week, I just don’t know.

I  am just as frustrated with this as you are, so, I will no longer cry wolf.  There are 3 programmers working on this intermittent
error and we do not have a timeframe.  I’ll just tell you the earliest it could happen is Monday but, that is not a promise.

Thanks for your patience,

Brian”
