JOECON 2013 Just Announced 2013 April 4th-7th At Indianapolis – Indiana
3 3/4-inch Nocturnal Fire convention set (whatever that means… Maybe Night Force?)
Acid Free Gallery just released a new Baroness print, along with a skin color variant. It looks nice, but this and the Scarlett will no be added to my collection. I wasn’t drawn to them in the same way that I was with the Perillo prints. Anyway, here is the picture:
Hey guys, I just found 2 absolutely amazing items. I won’t spill the beans just yet. I am going to wait until I have them on hand, but it is safe to say what I just got are among the rarest of all GI Joes.
Edit: as I have been asked to provide a hint: think tier 1 Funskool
“And like any good public organization nowadays, G.I. Joe even has a social-media expert, the new character Hashtag. The first Indian-American Joe, she’s an embedded journalist and blogger “who has a family military background and they think they can control her,” Van Lente says. “Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong.””
Collider.com has an interesting interview with Adrianne Palicki discussing GI Joe Retaliation! Here is the link: http://collider.com/adrianne-palicki-red-dawn-gi-joe-2-interview/211386/
But I’ve taken the important parts below:
Collider: You’re also going through the same thing with the delay for the G.I. Joe sequel. Are you just like, “Enough already!”?
PALICKI: I was like, “Really?! Oh, my god!” I felt like, “Am I a bad luck charm? I don’t understand!” But again, that movie really came down to the fact that they didn’t want to be sandwiched in between two huge blockbuster movies and get trampled. I don’t think it would have, but I understand them being safe. And they also wanted to make it 3D, genuinely. So, I was like, “Okay, I get it.” There’s a reason for everything, I guess.
Collider: Did your physical training on Red Dawn help prepare you for G.I. Joe: Retaliation and give you a better sense of what to expect?
PALICKI: For G.I. Joe, I had much more physical action because I’m playing a Navy SEAL. So, it’s not only about holding a gun. I had to do everything 100% correctly. We had Harry Humphries, who’s one of the best of the best. He’s a retired Navy SEAL, who’s one of the original Navy SEALs, and he trained us. I loved him, but that was a lot of work. But, I felt like I was two steps ahead of the game, having done all the work on Red Dawn. And then, I also did Wonder Woman and had hand-to-hand combat training for that. I felt like I was ready.
Recently there were 3 very cool and rare items up on eBay that I wanted to share with everyone. Unfortunately for me I lost out on them. First there is a piece of original comic art from Marvel GI Joe # 88 with Darklon, Cobra Commander, Destro. Next up are two package art preproduction pieces done by Earl Norem. There is the Budo character package art as well as the package art for the Cobra Battle Gear Accessory Pack 6.

So I realized that I have acquired quite a few cool pieces related to the SAW Viper. It didn’t start off because I loved the figure or anything like that, it just happened. I have the US release SAW Viper MOC, Chinese release MOC, Canadian release MOC, German release MOC, SAW Viper Prototype/test shot, and a DIC cartoon animation cel of the SAW Viper’s gun. It has been a goal of mine to try and collect every card variant and release of a character and it seems that SAW Viper will be the figure I collect, at least in the beginning. I know there are at least 2 UK card variants that I do not have yet (1 of the 2 I might be getting soon). I also would love information about other countries the SAW Viper might have been released in. If anyone knows I would appreciate the help. Here are the pics (minus the US release)
So I picked up several items recently. First, and not too interesting, I picked up 2 more V1 Toxo-Vipers. Second, I snagged the very rare, Nitro Viper file card still in the convention magazine (Nitro Viper is the only GI Joe that did not come with a file card. So, a fan made a file card and Hasbro officially endorsed it and released in it the convention magazine). Third, I picked up 2 international figures! I got 2 Brazilian Joes from the Eco Warriors line (Forca Eco). Enjoy!
