Figure Subscription Service Delay

The FSS has been delayed due to the continued labor strike at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Port. The Club said that this will only affect the timing of the first set of two figures and will not affect future shipments. The Club even said that they would possibly ship two waves/sets of figures in January.

GI Joe Retaliation Movie Update

The Rock came out on Twitter and said that he just watched GI Joe in 3D and said it was “big and bad ass. Can’t wait for you to see this film. 3/29/13.”

While I think he has to say that the movie is big and bad ass because he is in it, and he needs to promote it; I am optimistic about the movie. Like I have said previously, the delay had and continues to make me nervous because I read the delay was cause by poor reviews, which lead to reshoots. It will be great to see Joe on the big screen again, regardless of the quality and that will also mean new toys on the aisles.

There is also word that there will be a new GI Joe Retaliation theatrical trailer that will be hitting movie theaters soon as they ramp the advertising back up. Who knows, maybe it will be the rare (or only movie?) to have a spot in two different Super Bowls, haha.

Update on Big Reveal

So, it looks like my items won’t arrive until late next week or the week after….. Hate waiting but I am very excited to post pics of some things that are rarely seen. One item is (I believe) only the second example ever seen. Merry early Christmas to me haha!

News has been slow lately, so there isn’t much to talk about. There are some really nice carded auctions on eBay right now. Satan, Ninja Ku and TNT are all ending in a couple hours. The Satan and Ku are unpunched and all three cards are in great shape. If I hadn’t bought what I just did, I would be in on those.

There are also some nice Brazilian joe auctions up at the moment, but I don’t have much interest in them. While I am a completist for the US run (at least in terms of figures from 82-94) I do not feel the same urge with international joes. Partly because of how crazy hard it is to track down certain figures and the huge amount of variants (with many largely undocumented) especially involving Funskool. I have also heard that there are  some really crazy Mexican repaint figures, but the only one I have heard that has them is of course Aire. And I’m not quite on the same level as her haha.

HUGE Surprise Coming!!!!!

Hey guys, I just found 2 absolutely amazing items. I won’t spill the beans just yet. I am going to wait until I have them on hand, but it is safe to say what I just got are among the rarest of all GI Joes.

Edit: as I have been asked to provide a hint: think tier 1 Funskool

New Relaunch of IDW Comics in February – New Character Sneak Peek

From USA Today

“And like any good public organization nowadays, G.I. Joe even has a social-media expert, the new character Hashtag. The first Indian-American Joe, she’s an embedded journalist and blogger “who has a family military background and they think they can control her,” Van Lente says. “Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong.””

Interview with Adrianne Palicki

Collider.com has an interesting interview with Adrianne Palicki discussing GI Joe Retaliation! Here is the link: http://collider.com/adrianne-palicki-red-dawn-gi-joe-2-interview/211386/

But I’ve taken the important parts below:

Collider: You’re also going through the same thing with the delay for the G.I. Joe sequel. Are you just like, “Enough already!”?

PALICKI: I was like, “Really?! Oh, my god!” I felt like, “Am I a bad luck charm? I don’t understand!” But again, that movie really came down to the fact that they didn’t want to be sandwiched in between two huge blockbuster movies and get trampled. I don’t think it would have, but I understand them being safe. And they also wanted to make it 3D, genuinely. So, I was like, “Okay, I get it.” There’s a reason for everything, I guess.

Collider: Did your physical training on Red Dawn help prepare you for G.I. Joe: Retaliation and give you a better sense of what to expect?

PALICKI: For G.I. Joe, I had much more physical action because I’m playing a Navy SEAL. So, it’s not only about holding a gun. I had to do everything 100% correctly. We had Harry Humphries, who’s one of the best of the best. He’s a retired Navy SEAL, who’s one of the original Navy SEALs, and he trained us. I loved him, but that was a lot of work. But, I felt like I was two steps ahead of the game, having done all the work on Red Dawn. And then, I also did Wonder Woman and had hand-to-hand combat training for that. I felt like I was ready.
