GI Joe Weapon Transport Variants

Hey guys so as I pull back on the amount of purchases this month, I will be posting pictures of interesting items in my collection. First up are the 1985 Weapon Transport and its international variations. This vehicle is often over looked and that has made collecting it and variations of it easy to do. Below are pictures of the US release, the Argentina (Plastirama) release, and the India (Funskool) version. The US vehicle is on the far right of the pictures and is in an olive drab/green color. The light green variant is Funskool, and the dark/bright green is from Argentina. You may also notice that with the Funskool version, the wheels are black while the US and Argentina versions are more grey. They are all pretty affordable at about $15 each plus shipping. In my experience, the Funskool version was a little harder to come across.

  1. I have the Funskool one of these and absolutely adore it. As silly as it sounds, it’s cute.

  2. Awesome, I need to get a plastirama one sometime…

    • Of the 3, the Plastirama one is my favorite. There is also a Canadian release, but I couldnt tell from pictures if there was a color difference. I know the stickers say Canada instead of USA. But I didn’t want to grab it just to see because the guy wanted $50. A little more than I want to spend on it.

      • Canada will only have the different decals, plus the bilingual instructions and box. It wasn’t released in Europe, so that saves you about a dozen box/paperwork and decal variations. It also wasn’t sold in Mexico, but there is still a chance Rubiplas made it. But theres only a handful of things that weren’t made by auriken that rubiplas made, so I think you’re in the clear. Not sure of any Funskool variants, earlier ones may have vinyl decals, worth looking into

  3. Do you have a list of everything the various countries made? Is is available on HT or YoJoe?

  4. Not really, I’ve familiarized myself with most of it, so I’ve never made an all out list. Although, I’ve never really paid any attention to the Euro decal/box variations, too much top keep up with
